About

Who Am I? My name is Malcolm Wayland, and until spring 2009 I was an airline pilot. Although I only established myself as a professional Genealogy researcher after that date I already had many years of Ancestral research experience behind me, gained through investigating the Family History of numerous colleagues and friends as well as that of my own.

My own ancestry is, sad to say, somewhat lacking in notable individuals, many of them being semi-literate farm workers or other types of manual labourer. However, because of their hand-to-mouth existence, I have developed a good insight into what records were kept by the authorities who operated the Poor Houses to which some of them were obliged to turn to at times of illness or exceptional hardship.
